Despite strong local opposition and our detailed objections, Hart District Council’s Development Committee resolved in August to grant outline permission for this 190-home application subject to a legal agreement between the local authority and the landowner (Cemex). This agreement secures financial contributions and local improvements, such as funding for local healthcare, play areas, and transport, to help lessen the impact of the new homes. The decision can be viewed on the Hart District Council planning portal under ref. 25/01581/OUT.  We remain extremely concerned about the environmental, flooding, and traffic impacts of this development. However, the developer still needs to get final approval for the detailed designs, layout, and appearance of the houses, and the community will get another chance to have its say on those specifics when that time comes.
