Blackbushe Airport

Blackbushe Airport Ltd has submitted a notice to Hampshire County Council for deregistering the airport land from the Commons Register.

This land has been “common” for a thousand years and should remain as such for another thousand. The airport was built under wartime emergency regulations and is a “guest” in our parish. Why after all these years should they suddenly want to deregister the land? Aircraft can take off and land. Of course the land would be a more valuable asset for future development if not common land although we are not suggesting this is the reason.

For more information see this notice taken from the Hampshire County Council web site: Common Deregistering 03_16

This should be opposed. If deregistered Blackbush Airport would presumably have greater control of land use and could possibly follow Fairoaks airport and be sold for housing developement
