Blackbushe Airport

As you know, the owner of Blackbushe Airport has applied to de-register the airport land from the Commons Register. At a special meeting of the Yateley Common Management Committee on the 20th September the committee voted unanimously to oppose the application. Also an unofficial vote among the public who attended also voted unanimously to oppose the application. At the Yateley Society monthly meeting on the 28th September there was a presentation and discussion on the application and again there was a unanimous vote for the Society to oppose the application.

Over the years, despite, the then Government renaging on its commitment to return the airfield to public amenity land when the airport was decommissioned, the Society has been pragmatic over small developments necessary to grow a viable business. However, de-registering the land from its present common land status crosses a red line and is an abhorrent missuse of the land ownership.

In accordance with members wishes we have vigorously opposed this application and you can read that letter of objection by clicking the following link: YS Deregistration_Response
